Anderson Brothers Bank Partners with GoVA Foundations to Expand Financial Educations Access for Military Families

MULLINS, SC (November 11, 2025) GoVA Foundation announces a strategic partnership with Anderson Brothers Bank, a South Carolina-based community bank, to provide free digital financial education resources to low- and moderate-income (LMI) military families through GoVA's innovative platform, The Edge.

Through a Community Development grant from Anderson Brothers Bank, the program will serve 20 military members in Berkeley and Dorchester Counties. The Edge platform offers interactive courses, financial calculators, and other digital resources designed to build financial empowerment within the military community.

By helping military families develop strong financial skills, we're empowering them to achieve financial stability, supporting their futures, and strengthening our local communities. The partnership launched in September 2025, and reflects both organizations' commitment to supporting military communities and expanding financial education access. Anderson Brothers Bank will receive LMI verification and impact reports as part of the grant agreement, while sponsored military members gain unlimited access to The Edge's financial education tools for a full year.
This collaboration is part of GoVA Foundation's ongoing efforts to partner with forward-thinking financial institutions nationwide in service of military families.

The Board plays a pivotal role in shaping industry standards, providing strategic oversight, and advancing the Association’s mission to promote fair, ethical, and transparent financing solutions for consumers nationwide.

Shanda, representing the Sumter LPO, participated in the Sumter eSTEAM Festival, an annual event that aims to bridge the gap between education and industries, highlighting growing workforce talents. It enables our future generation to explore various career paths. Shanda was able to showcase Anderson Brothers Bank to several future customers, along with providing numerous hands-on STEM activities for the children. The event drew over 5,000 attendees from Sumter and the surrounding areas.

The Tobacco Bowl officially began with a press conference on Monday, September 22, 2025, where local dignitaries, Anderson Brothers Bank representatives, and Marion County School District staff gathered to highlight the event and celebrate its impact on the community.

The main event takes place on Friday, September 26, 2025, when the Mullins Auctioneers host the Marion Swamp Foxes in a clash for county pride. The rivalry between Marion and Mullins is rich with history, filled with memorable plays, strong competition, and community spirit.

At stake is not only the Tobacco Bowl trophy but also the yearlong bragging rights that come with victory. Each year, the winning team holds the honor until the next showdown.
